Overview

1. Introduction

When you visit our website or use our applications, we (or our partners) may store or read information on your device—typically in the form of cookies or similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixels. This Cookie Policy explains what those technologies are, why we use them, and how you can control them.

We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) as applicable to cookies and similar technologies.

Basics

2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a site. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, improve user experience, and provide information to site owners.

First-party cookies are set by DriveCore. Third-party cookies are set by a domain other than ours (for example, a payment or maps provider) when content or scripts from that domain are loaded.

Cookies may be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remain for a defined period or until you delete them).

Your choices

3. Cookie categories we use

We group cookies and similar technologies into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary Required for core operation (security, load balancing, authentication, session continuity). They cannot be disabled via our banner without breaking core functionality.
  • Functional Remember settings you choose (e.g. language, UI preferences, map defaults) to improve your experience.
  • Analytics / performance Help us understand how visitors use our site (aggregate statistics) so we can improve performance and content. We only enable non-essential analytics when you consent via “Accept all cookies”.
  • Marketing If we use advertising or social pixels in the future, we will list them here and request consent where required. Currently, we minimise marketing cookies and only use them if you explicitly opt in.

Processors

5. Third parties

Depending on the features you use, third-party services may set their own cookies or process data:

  • Stripe — payment processing and checkout (Stripe Cookie Policy).
  • Map providers (e.g. Mapbox) — map display (Mapbox). Map loads only when you use map features.
  • Hosting & CDN — delivery of static assets and security (providers may use minimal technical cookies).

These providers act as independent data controllers or processors in relation to their own services.

Your controls

6. How to control cookies

Cookie banner: When you first visit, you can choose Accept all cookies or Essential only. Essential-only mode limits us to strictly necessary and core functional items where required for the service you requested.

Browser settings: You can block or delete cookies through your browser. Instructions are available in the help section of most browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).

Do not track: Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. There is no uniform industry standard; we treat consent through our banner and applicable law as the primary mechanism.

UK GDPR

7. Legal bases

Strictly necessary cookies are used to perform our contract with you or for our legitimate interests in operating a secure, reliable service (where PECR allows).

Functional, analytics, and marketing technologies that are not strictly necessary rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by clearing cookies and revisiting the site, or contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Updates

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we introduce new technologies, partners, or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and for material changes we may show a notice on the site or email registered users where appropriate.
